Object.prototype.__parent__

This feature is non-standard and is not on a standards track. Do not use it on production sites facing the Web: it will not work for every user. There may also be large incompatibilities between implementations and the behavior may change in the future.

Obsolete since Gecko 2 (Firefox 4 / Thunderbird 3.3 / SeaMonkey 2.1)
This feature is obsolete. Although it may still work in some browsers, its use is discouraged since it could be removed at any time. Try to avoid using it.

The __parent__ property used to point to an object's context, but it has been removed.

Description

For top-level objects, this is the e.g. window.

Browser compatibility

Not supported anywhere. Historically supported until Firefox version 4.
