Deprecated since SVG 2
This feature is no longer recommended. Though some browsers might still support it, it may have already been removed from the relevant web standards, may be in the process of being dropped, or may only be kept for compatibility purposes. Avoid using it, and update existing code if possible; see the compatibility table at the bottom of this page to guide your decision. Be aware that this feature may cease to work at any time.
The version
attribute is used to indicate what specification a SVG document conforms to. It is only allowed on the root <svg>
element. It is purely advisory and has no influence on rendering or processing.
While it is specified to accept any number, the only two valid choices are currently 1.0
and 1.1
.
<svg version="1.1" viewBox="0 0 100 100" xmlns="http://www.w3.org/2000/svg"> <rect x="10" y="10" width="80" height="80"/> </svg>
