URL.hostname

The hostname property of the URL interface is a USVString containing the domain name of the URL.

Note: This feature is available in Web Workers.

Syntax

const domain = url.hostname
url.hostname = domain

Value

A USVString.

Examples

const url = new URL('/docs/Web/API/URL/hostname');
console.log(url.hostname); // Logs: 'developer.mozilla.org'
